Lately, we’ve been spending a lot of time in Milwaukee and seeing all that this beautiful city has to offer. When the weather outside is frightful, finding the right hotel can make or break your weekend getaway. We decided this weekend we wanted to look for a landmark, unique place that had history and character. We found all those things along with modern amenities and elegance within The Pfister Hotel of downtown Milwaukee, WI.
What immediately got our attention was the lobby. It is breathtaking, beautiful, and so unique when compared to most other hotels. I’d guess it’s about 3 or 4 stories high and has unbelievable detail along the columns, walls, trim, and the ceiling! The ceiling to me is worth the trip even if you aren’t planning to stay the night. If you do visit and decide to drop by they have a great lounge/bar right in the lobby with a cozy fireplace, couches, and great small plate options.
The lobby area also offers some beautiful art along the walls along with an in house art studio, full service coffee/sandwich shop with a wide variety of bakery items, access to the spa, and you can visit the Mason Street Grill without having to step outside in the cold! The Mason Street Grill is a steakhouse restaurant that also offers sandwiches/burgers and has a separate bar area that plays live music on the weekends.
We decided to splurge on one of their rooms that offered access to their club lounge. It’s located on the 23rd floor with panoramic views of downtown Milwaukee and worth the little bit extra as they serve breakfast, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails with cozy furniture. Also, located on the 23rd floor is their indoor pool with gorgeous views and their rooftop bar, Blu Bar & Lounge.
We had a had a fun and relaxing weekend getaway and we’ll definitely visit this hotel again. I highly recommend this place for couples looking for a Valentine destination or for those looking for somewhere to go with options for indoor entertainment. Their staff is amazing, friendly, and attentive to your needs. If you’re thinking about visiting Milwaukee then be sure to check out The Pfister Hotel.
